Melvin ‘The Young Assassin’ Guillard is a former UFC fighter who at one point was one of the most feared strikers in the lightweight division. He beat some very tough guys during his run in the UFC that saw him go 12-9 in the promotion, beating guys like Evan Dunham, Jeremy Stephens, Gleison Tibau and Dennis Siver.
Consistency was always a problem for Guillard, though, particularly as of late, but the power and athleticism are always there.
In this video we see ‘The Young Assassin’ compete in a bare-knuckle boxing bout and judging by the way the fight goes, bare-knuckle boxing seems like it’s a good fit for Guillard at this point in his fight career.
Prior to this fight, Guillard fought three times for the England-based bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKB, winning 1 fight and losing 2 bouts to a talented guy named Jimmy Sweeney who had beaten several former UFC fighters previously in bare-knuckle bouts.
In this recent fight, though, we see that Guillard is on a completely different level than his opponent, named Leighton Brady. He is also very patient, which, in his UFC fights, was always something he struggled with and he was always much more of a frontrunner.
